Here's how to tell the difference between fertilized and unfertilized eggs,
based on appearance over time.

✅ What Fresh Eggs Look Like
Right after being laid, eggs are white and rugby-ball shaped.
As time goes on, they slowly become rounder and more spherical.

✅ What a Fertilized Egg Looks Like.
After about 2–3 weeks, you should start to see tiny outlines of larvae forming inside.

❌ What an Unfertilized Egg Looks Like.
They often appear misshapen or distorted.
You'll see dark sediment settling inside the egg.
Over time, that dark sediment will harden and become a solid, dark lump, basically a dead egg.
If you’re ever unsure, just be patient. Fertilized eggs show clear signs within a few weeks.
